The top three Colorado Springs elementary schools are rated 9 out of 10 on Great Schools, including Pioneer Elementary, The Classical Academy Charter, and Bristol Elementary. The top three middle schools in the area are rated 8 out of 10 and up, including The Vanguard School, Challenger Middle School, and Sproul Junior High School. Colorado Springs high schools continue the area’s trend of educational prestige, with the top three being rated 9 out of 10. They’re The Classical Academy High, Cheyenne Mountain High, and The Vanguard School.

Colorado Springs provides plenty to do for people of all ages. The Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift-Off is a hot air balloon festival that takes place over three days. Territory Days is a huge three-day street festival that includes performances by Native American dancers and Wild West gunfight reenactments. The Colorado Springs Food Truck Festival provides diverse culinary offerings, while the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo is a local favorite. 

The area is represented in the NFL by three-time Superbowl winners, the Denver Broncos. Its local professional basketball team is the Denver Nuggets, and the Colorado Rockies play baseball at Coors Field. If you’re a big-time sports fan and don’t mind moving to a slightly pricier city, you might prefer Denver to Colorado Springs.

If you like to hit the town, head to Tejon Street or Old Colorado City, which are both known for their active nightlife scene. The Rabbit Hole features unique, haunting decor that’s earned it the nickname of “The Wonderland of the Springs.” Here, you’ll find eclectic cuisine and exotic cocktails. Families can explore the great outdoors together at the North Cheyenne Canyon Park or Garden of the Gods. Learn about the local history at the Colorado Springs Pioneers Museum. You can hand-feed giraffes at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, or play some games at Arcade Amusements

Or, get active outside at the Red Rock Canyon Open Space, Palmer Park, or Ute Valley Park. When you’re done, grab some food at the Pub Dog Colorado, which serves an array of pub food, beer, and wine in an indoor space that your pup is allowed in.
