Move it with Jodie! Blog for the Downsizing Boomers!

Welcome to my "Move It with Jodie" blog.  Depending upon the day, it will read like a how-to guide, inspirational journal, confessional, diary full of Boomer rantings and generally, a place for all things associated with moving on to the next act, whatever that will be and how to get there. Mostly, I just want you to know "You Are Not Alone!".  76 million of us will be faced with this over the next 10-20 years so buckle up , we've got lots to talk about!

Picture me! 63 years old.  I am still gainfully employed but starting to think about "what comes next".  I am filled with inspiration, enthusiasm and the blissful naivete that comes with starting any big project.   I am absolutely convinced once I wade through the stuff, which should take me a few weeks at the most, I will be well on my way to planning my transition to the next, most exciting chapter of my life. Filled with conviction, I sally forth to the garage! (queue ominous music  - think Jaws soundtrack!!!) 

Standing in the garage, staring at the shelves,  I started to sweat like some kind of farm animal accompanied by a good ol' case of panic.  After a few minutes, I found I began talking to myself like some wannabe motivation speaker "Jodie, you can do it, girlfriend!  It is a marathon, not a sprint!  Anything worthwhile is hard!".  Blah, blah and more blah!  Mostly, am overwhelmed by the task, I started making deals with myself.  "Jodie, is it really all that imperative that you do this before you officially retire?  I mean, come on, you have plenty of time.  Really, go fix a beverage and binge watch Peaky Blinders again."   

I guess I could live in this house for the rest of my life, dreaming of what my next act would have been had I the right plan, knowledge and moving partner to just get me off my hind end, as they say!

That is why I am here.  I am going to make sure you don't have to be accompanied by the Jaw's soundtrack when you decide to launch into the downsizing, decluttering, rightsizing and overall getting you, and your home, ready to make a transition to the next step in your journey.  I am going to share with you all kinds of tips, tricks and arm you with the knowledge you need to pick the right supplier to help you with what, at this moment, seems insurmountable.
